SPSF Announces 2021-2022 Board Officers

SPOKANE, WA -- The Spokane Public Schools Foundation (SPSF) recently approved a slate of new officers to reside over the organization’s business. The 2021-2022 officers are as follows:

Katie Scofield, Numerica Credit Union, President.

Katie joined the SPSF Board in 2018 and has brought communications and other skills to the Foundation. In 2020 she chaired the first virtual STEAM-Powered fundraising event. Katie works for Numerica Credit Union as a Community Development & Impact Relationship Manager, specializing in financial education. She was born and raised in Spokane, attended Spokane Public Schools and currently lives here with her husband and two daughters, both in Spokane public schools.

Sam Song, Kumon of Spokane, Vice President.

Sam may be best remembered for bringing the gorgeous Chinese Lantern Festival to Spokane. He has been in education all his adult life as a teacher in China and now owner and instructor at Kumon Math and Reading Center where over 1,500 students to date have been helped. He has worked at the City of Spokane overseeing Riverfront Park operations and at the Spokane International Academy.

Celeste Bowen, Providence Sacred Heart, Secretary.

As an SPSF board member since 2020, Celeste has assumed the important role of Secretary. Celeste brings her diverse background in management and administration to the Foundation, its Executive Committee, and the Communications Committee.

Laura Parasida, Magnuson McHugh & Co., Treasurer.

Laura joined the SPSF Board in 2020 and its Executive Committee as Treasurer. Laura is both a CPA CFE, and her skills are critically important to the Foundation which has enjoyed having CPAs on the Board to watch over its finances. Laura holds a bachelor’s of science Business and Accounting and a Master’s degree in Accountancy from the University of Idaho. She works for Magnuson McHugh & Company in Coeur d’Alene and lives in Spokane.

K.C. Constable, SWDS, Immediate Past President.

K.C. just concluded a very impactful term as SPSF President and continue to serve on the Board and its Executive Committee. K.C. brings his experience as an entrepreneur to SPSF.
